An undergraduate university degree or equivalent in management, with a major in accounting, or in accountancy, provided the candidate has successfully completed all relevant courses of the CMA path. All Quebec universities and the University of Ottawa offer bachelor’s programs (or the equivalent) that allow access to the CMA Entrance Examination. As part of such programs, students learn to master the basic tools of accounting. In addition to the basic training that all professional accountants receive, future CMAs will add specialized management accounting knowledge to their academic training.
